You probably already know that there are additional expenses when you are buying a Brampton home, but you just tend to look the other way in the excitement of owning a home. There are more expenses tied to buying a Brampton home than your down payment and mortgages. Find out by reading this article:</p>
<p>Survey fees. Your bank or lending institution may require a property survey when you are buying a resale. This can be a hefty amount. You can ask the home seller to provide the survey when you submit an offer to purchase. This could save you as much as $1,000.</p>
<p>Appraisal fees.  This is another lender requirement. Property appraisals costs anywhere from $200 -$300.</p>
<p>Property insurance. This covers the replacement of your house and its contents starting from the day you take over ownership.  Take precautions that you have an insurability clause stipulated in your contract because some homes are not insurable. Proof of property insurance is also required by lending institutions.</p>
<p>Home inspection fees. In Canada, this can be anywhere from $150 -$350, and even higher for more expensive homes. This protects the buyer from any problems in the home he is buying. <p>Land transfer tax. This is usually equivalent to 1-4% of the purchase price of the home. Rebates are given to first time home buyers which can be anywhere from $2,000 to $3,725 for residents of Toronto.</p>
<p>Mortgage broker&#8217;s fee. If you used the services of a mortgage broker then you have to pay her or his services for finding a lending institution on your behalf and making the arrangements for the financing. However, some mortgage brokers will have lending institutions pay for their fees.</p>
<p>GST.  Only new homes and those which have undergone extensive renovation are charged with GST. Rebates are also available.</p>
<p>Moving costs. This is the fee you pay to professional movers.</p>
